Montreal trip tools

Answer two or three questions and get a starting point. You can change it later.

Where should I stay?

How many days should I plan?

Not sure what to pick?

If you’re torn between areas, choose the one closest to what you’ll do most in the evenings. During the day you’ll be out across the city anyway, and the Metro makes that easy, but where you go back to each night shapes the trip. First visits tend to work best in Old Montreal or Downtown. On a second trip, try somewhere more residential.

How the suggestions work

The neighbourhood picker matches your main priority to the areas covered in our neighbourhood guides: Old Montreal for history, Downtown for transit, the Plateau and Mile End for food and walking, and so on. The trip-length picker is based on our itineraries: two days covers the core for most first visits, and three days leaves room for a market, a museum and slower evenings. In winter it adds time, because shorter days and cold weather slow you down.

They’re a starting point, not a rule. Read the linked guide before you book anything, and see where to stay for the full comparison.
