Privacy Policy

This policy explains what MontrealCanadian.com collects, why, and the choices you have. It’s written with Quebec’s privacy law (often called Law 25) in mind.

Who is responsible

MontrealCanadian.com is an independent site, edited by Greg Parsons and Caleb Parsons. For any privacy question, or to reach the person responsible for protecting personal information on this site, email contact@montrealcanadian.com.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (Google’s web analytics service) on every page to count visits and see which guides are useful. It loads as soon as a page opens and sets cookies in your browser.

Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived (for example from a search engine or another site), approximate location (city or region, based on your IP address), your device type, browser and screen size, and when you click a partner link (the partner, the link name and the page). We see this only as aggregated reports and use it to improve the site. We don’t use Google Analytics to identify individual visitors.

Google processes this data under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy. This data may be processed outside Quebec.

How to opt out

You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your visits in two ways:

  • Install Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available for the major desktop browsers.
  • Block or delete cookies in your browser settings, use a private window, or use a browser or extension that blocks trackers. Blocking cookies may affect some features on other sites.

Partner links

Links to Stay22, Viator and GetYourGuide go through a short redirect on this site (/go/…) and then to the partner. Once you’re on their site, their privacy policies apply, and they may set their own cookies to track a booking. See the affiliate disclosure.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply, and we delete them when they’re no longer needed.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell personal information, run ad networks or ask you to create an account.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it or have it deleted. Email us and we’ll reply within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied, you can contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date below.
